Keep the burner and controlcompartment clean by brushing and vacuumingat least once a year.2) Clean appliance and door with a damp cloth(never when unit is hot). Never use an abrasivecleaner. The glass should be cleaned with a gasfireplace glass cleaner. The glass should becleaned when it starts looking cloudy.3) The faceplate is finished in a heat resistantpaint and should only be refinished with heatresistant paint. Regency ® uses StoveBrightPaint - Metallic Black #6309.Note: Faceplates and inner panels made fromstainless steel will naturally changecolor over time.4) Make a periodic check of burner for properposition and condition. Visually check theflame of the burner periodically, making surethe flames are steady; not lifting or floating.If there is a problem, call a qualified serviceperson.5) The appliance and venting system must beinspected before use, and at least annually,by a qualified field service person, to ensurethat the flow of combustion and ventilation airis not obstructed.Note: Never operate the appliance without theglass properly secured in place.6) Do not use this appliance if any part has beenunder water. Immediately call a qualified servicetechnician to inspect the appliance and toreplace any part of the control system and anygas control which has been under water.7) In the event this appliance has been servicedcheck that the vent-air system has been properlyresealed & reinstalled in accordance with themanufacturer's instructions.8) Verify operation after servicing.GENERAL VENTMAINTENANCEConduct an inspection of the venting systemsemi-annually. Recommended areas to inspectas follows:1) Check the Venting System for corrosion in areasthat are exposed to the elements. These willappear as rust spots or streaks, and in extremecases, holes. These components should bereplaced immediately.2) Remove the Cap, and shine a flashlight downthe Vent. Remove any bird nests, or otherforeign material.3) Check for evidences of excessive condensation,such as water droplets forming in the innerliner, and subsequently dripping out the joints,Continuous condensation can cause corrosionof caps, pipe, and fittings. It may be causedby having excessive lateral runs, too manyelbows, and exterior portions of the systembeing exposed to cold weather.4) Inspect joints, to verify that no pipe sections orfittings have been disturbed, and consequentlyloosened. Also check mechanical supportssuch as Wall Straps, or plumbers' tape forrigidity.GLASS GASKETIf the glass gasket requires replacement use atadpole glass gasket (Part # 936-159).CAUTION: Wear gloves whenremoving damaged or broken glass.WARNING: Do not operate theappliance with the glass panelsremoved, cracked or broken.Replacement of the glass panelsshould be done by a licensed orqualified service person.GLASS DOORYour Regency ® fireplace is supplied with hightemperature 5mm-Ceramic glass. If your glassrequires cleaning, we recommend using anapproved glass cleaner available at all authorizeddealers.
