Regency ® L900 Direct Vent Gas Fireplace12INSTALLATIONINSTALLATIONSIDE NAILING STRIPSThe side nailing strips come attached to the unit.There are 3 plates, one on the top and bottomthat can be folded out as required.UNIT ASSEMBLYPRIOR TOINSTALLATIONThe Top Facing Support, the Side Nailing Stripsand the 2 Top Standoffs must be correctlypositioned and attached to the top before unitis slipped into position.TOP STANDOFF ASSEMBLYThe top standoffs are shipped in a flat positionand must be folded into shape and attached.1) Remove the standoffs from the fireplacetop.2) Take each standoff and bend into the correctshape. Bend up at the bend lines until thescrew holes in the standoff and the pre-punched screw holes on the fireplace topline up.3) Attach the standoff securely to the topwith 2 screws per standoff (on oppositecorners). Side Nailing Strips shown folded out.FINISHING TEMPLATEIn order to maintain a clean face; the L900allows for a 1/8” in overlap of finishing material,such as rock or tile, on both the left and righthand sides of the unit (top and bottom sides donot allow for an overlap), this overlap must notbe exceeded or the glass door will no longeropen properly.Non-combustible wall board is installed upto the flanges on all sides of the unit. Wheninstalling any additional facing material usethe Finishing Template (included with the unit)to ensure that the finishing material does notexceed the allowable overlap.The Finishing Template uses two magnets toattach itself to the flange on the left or right sideof the unit (see diagram below). Install the facingmaterial up to the outside edge (when facingthe unit) of the finishing template. This templatemay be discarded after the facing material hasbeen installed.
