12 U32SE-5 FPI Direct Vent Gas InsertINSTALLATIONGAS PIPEPRESSURE TESTINGThe appliance must be isolated from the gas supplypiping system by closing its individual manual shut-off valve during any pressure testing of the gassupply piping system at test pressures equal to orless than 1/2 psig. (3.45 kPa). Disconnect pipingfrom valve at pressures over 1/2 psig. The manifold pressure is controlled by a regulatorbuilt into the gas control, and should be checkedat the pressure test point.Note: To properly check gas pressure, bothinlet and manifold pressures should bechecked using the valve pressure portson the valve.1) Make sure the valve is in the "OFF" position.2) Loosen the "IN" and/or "OUT" pressure tap(s),turning counterclockwise with a 1/8" wide flatscrewdriver.3) Attach manometer to "IN" and/or "OUT"pressure tap(s) using a 5/16" ID hose.4) Light the pilot and turn the valve to "ON" position.5) The pressure check should be carried out withthe unit burning and the setting should be withinthe limits specified on the safety label.6) When finished reading manometer, turn off thegas valve, disconnect the hose and tighten thescrew (clockwise) with a 1/8" flat screwdriver.Note: Screw should be snug, but do notover tighten.GAS INSERTAERATION SYSTEMThe burner aeration is factory set but may needadjusting due to either the local gas supply oraltitude. Open the air shutter for a blue flame orclose for a yellow flame. The burner assembly will need to be removed inorder to adjust burner aeration if required. Secure with gear clamp.5) Install flashing.6) Insert both liners into chimney, passing throughthe damper opening.7) Install termination cap.8) Connect the marked end of the liner to the inletcollar of the vent connector plate marked withan "I", seal connection with high temperaturesilicone. Secure with gear clamp.9) Connect the 2nd liner to the exhaust collarmarked with an "E", seal connection with hightemperature silicone. Secure with gear clamp.NOTES:1) Final gas connection should be made afterunit is in place to avoid damage to line whenpushing the unit into position.2) Mill-pac may be used instead of hightemperature silicone and screws may be usedinstead of gear clamps at connections of linerto inlet and vent collars.
