This is perfectly normaldue to the fact that there are various gaugesand types of steel used within your appliance.Listed below are some examples. All are normaloperating sounds and should not be consideredas defects in your appliance.Blower:FPI gas appliances use high tech blowers topush heated air farther into the room. It is notunusual for the fan to make a "whirring" soundwhen ON. This sound will increase or decreasein volume depending on the speed setting ofyour fan speed control.Burner Tray:The burner tray is positioned directly under theburner tube(s) and logs and is made of a differentgauge material from the rest of the firebox andbody. Therefore, the varying thicknesses of steelwill expand and contract at slightly differentrates which can cause "ticking" and "cracking"During the fi rst few fi res, a white fi lmmay develop on the glass front as partof the curing process. The glass shouldbe cleaned or the fi lm will bake on andbecome very diffi cult to remove. Use anon-abrasive cleaner and NEVER cleanthe glass while it is hot.1) Open the bottom louver assembly2) If the control knob is in the "OFF" positionproceed to Step 5.3) Push in gas control knob slightly and turnclockwise to "OFF".
