See page 6.11.Message Status Do this...Problem Possible Cause and Solution“File in Use” messageappears during installation.Exit all software applications. Remove all software from theStartUp Group, then restart Windows. Reinstall the printerdriver.“Error Writing to LPTx”message appears.• Ensure that the cables are connected correctly and thatthe printer is on.• If bi-directional communication is not turned on in thedriver, it will also cause this message.“General Protection Fault”,“Exception OE”, “Spool32”,or “Illegal Operation”messages appear.Close all other applications, reboot Windows and tryprinting again.“Fail To Print”, “A printertimeout error occurred.”message appear.This message may appear during printing.
