84 Tethering and Mobile HotspotSettingsTethering and Mobile HotspotUse Mobile Hotspot to shareyour phone’s Internet connectionwith other devices using yourdevice as a portable Wi‑Fihotspot.Share your device’s Internetconnection with a computer thatconnects to your device using aUSB cable.Mobile HotspotUse your device as a portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.Note: You must have a tethering plan on your serviceaccount in order to use the Mobile Hotspot.Warning: Mobile Hotspot consumes battery powerand uses data service.Turn Mobile Hotspot On or OffActivate your device’s Mobile Hotspot applicationto allow other devices to use your device’s Internetconnection.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > CONNECTIONS > Tethering andMobile Hotspot > Mobile Hotspot.2. Tap ON/OFF to turn Mobile Hotspot on or off.Warning: By default, your device’s portableWi-Fi hotspot has no security applied, and anydevice can connect. For more information, seeConfigure Mobile Hotspot Settings.Connect a Device to Your Mobile HotspotUse the other device’s Wi-Fi control to connect toyour device’s Mobile Hotspot.1. On the target device, enter your device’s MobileHotspot password.Allowed Devices ListControl whether devices connect to your PortableWi-Fi hotspot with the Allowed device list. Afteryou add devices to the list, they can scan for yourdevice and connect using your device’s PortableWi-Fi hotspot name and password.Note: Using your device as a Mobile Hotspotconsumes battery power and uses data service. WhileMobile Hotspot is active, your device’s applicationsuse the Mobile Hotspot data service. Roaming whileusing your device as a Mobile Hotspot incurs extradata charges.1.
