176 3A. Sprint Service: The BasicsCall GuardYour device has two ways of alerting you when you areroaming off the Nationwide Sprint Network: theonscreen roaming icon and Call Guard. Call Guardmakes it easy to manage your roaming by requiring anextra step before you can place or answer a roamingcall. (This additional step is not required when youmake or receive calls while on the Nationwide SprintNetwork.)To turn Call Guard on or off:1. Press > and tap > Call settings.2. Touch Call Guard to toggle the active state of thisfunction. When active, an extra key press isrequired for dialing when in a roaming area.To place roaming calls with Call Guard on:1. From standby mode, dial your ten-digit wirelessnumber and tap .2. Touch OK.To answer incoming roaming calls with Call Guard on:1. Press . (A message is displayed notifyingyou that roaming charges will apply.)2. Tap OK.System Select1. Press > and tap > Wireless andnetwork > Mobile networks.2. Tap System select to change the CDMA roamingmode. Sprint only to access only the home area mobilenetwork, which is the Nationwide Sprint Network.This option also prevents roaming on othernetworks. Automatic to seek service on the NationwideSprint Network.
