It also explains the features and functionalityassociated with messaging.Types of MessagesYour phone provides the following message types:• Text Messages• Multimedia (Picture, Video, and Audio) Messages• Email and Gmail Messages• Google+• Google Talk• Messenger• Instant Messages (IM)The Short Message Service (SMS) lets you send and receivetext messages to and from other mobile phones or emailaddresses. To use this feature, you may need to subscribe toyour service provider’s message service.The Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) lets you send andreceive multimedia messages (such as picture, video, andaudio messages) to and from other mobile phones or emailaddresses. To use this feature, you may need to subscribe toyour service provider’s multimedia message service.Message Icons on the Status BarIcons are displayed on the Status Bar at the top of the displaywhen new messages are received. For more information,refer to “Status Bar” on page 30.Important! During the creation of a text message, adding animage, sound file, or video clip automaticallychanges it from a text message (SMS) to amultimedia message (MMS).Note: The Messaging application can also be accessed bypressing and then tapping (Apps) >(Messaging).
