CHAPTER 4. MMC Programming OfficeServ 500 Wireless LAN Service Manual/Ed.00Page 4-14 © SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd.2.6 Setting the MMC830 Ethernet ParametersTo use the basic type of the WBS24, the system network and MGI should be set. This MMC provides a mean to configure the Internet Protocol(IP) addressing of theOfficeServ 500 system MCP2 card. This MMC must be utilized if there are ITPseries phones and/or MGI cards used on the system.Table 4.3 MMC830 ParametersNumber Parameters Description00 SYSTEM IP ADDR Specifies the IP address for the MCP2 card.01 SYSTEMGATEWAYSpecifies the designated gateway IP address used for contactingIP devices beyond the local network subnet.02 SYSTEM NETMASKSpecifies the IP subnet mask. This parameter is used by the system to calculate the range of IPdevices(subnet) that are within ‘direct reach’ of the MCP2(withouthaving to go through the designated network IP gateway).03 SYSTEM RESET Prompt to restart system MCP2 when system IP address ischanged. This reset is same to FAST RESTART on MMC 811.04 SYSTEM IP TYPE Defines which IP addressing relationship is used forcommunications to and from the MCP2 card.0 PRIVATE IP ONLY : The system assumes all IP phones andVoIP connections are on the same network. And all IPaddresses are private IP address.1 PRIVATE w PUBLIC : The system knows that there is a mixtureof IP phones and VoIP connections on the same network andon remote network(s), thus communicates accordingly basedupon the entries in MMC 840(for IP phones), MMC 838(forother VoIP gateways) or MMC 830(for other MCP2).2 PRIVATE IP ONLY : The system assumes all IP phones andVoIP connections are on the same network. And all IPaddresses are public IP address.05 SYSTEM PUBLICIPThe MCP2 will originate communications, to IP phones and VoIPconnections outside the local network, using this IP address.Communications to/from this IP will require involvement of the MGIcard. The system identifies communications to/from this address as‘public’. This allows devices, on remote networks/subnets, toestablish communications with the system, without exposing yourLAN. See ‘SYSTEM IP TYPE’.06 SYSTEM MACADDRFor your reference, and cannot be changed. The uniquehardware(MAC) address of the MCP2 card.07 PCMMCADDRESSWhen system wants connect to PCMMC, system will be send tothis IP address for connection message. Reserved for future use.
