6Charging the BatteryYour phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Usethe travel adapter to charge the battery, and use onlySamsung approved batteries and chargers.Note: You must fully charge the battery before using yourphone for the first time. A fully discharged batteryrequires up to 4 hours of charge time.Caution! For connection to an electrical supply not located inNorth America, you must use an adaptor of the properconfiguration for the power outlet. Use of the wrongadaptor could damage your phone and void yourwarranty.1. Open the side slot and plug the connector of the traveladapter jack into the jack on the side of the phone.Note: The following illustration shows the correct and incorrectmethod for connecting the charger. If the adapter isconnected incorrectly, damage to the accessory port willoccur, voiding the phone’s warranty.2. Plug the adaptor into a standard AC wall outlet.3. When the phone is completely charged ( ), unplugthe adapter from the power outlet.4. Remove the adapter from the phone by gently pullingthe connector out and replace the plastic cover backover the open jack.Note: During charging, you must unplug the adapter beforeremoving the battery from the phone to avoid damage.
