Ifthe message appears in standby mode or afterprinting has been completed, check the connectionand/or whether an error has occurred.Common Linux ProblemsCondition Suggested solutionsThe machine doesn’tprint.• Check if the printer driver is installed in yoursystem. Open MFP configurator and switch to thePrinters tab in Printers configuration window tolook at the list of available printers. Make sure thatyour machine is displayed on the list. If not,please, invoke Add new printer wizard to set upyour device.• Check if the printer is started. Open Printersconfiguration and select your machine on theprinters list. Look at the description in the Selectedprinter pane. If its status contains “(stopped)”string, please, press the Start button. After thatnormal operation of the printer should be restored.The “stopped” status might be activated whensome problems in printing occurred. For instance,this could be an attempt to print document whenMFP port is claimed by a scanning application.• Check if the MFP port is not busy. Since functionalcomponents of MFP (printer and scanner) share thesame I/O interface (MFP port), the situation ofsimultaneous access of different “consumer”application to the same MFP port is possible. Toavoid possible conflicts, only one of them at a timeis allowed to gain control over the device. Theother “consumer” will encounter “device busy”response. You should open MFP ports configurationand select the port assigned to your printer. In theSelected port pane you can see if the port isoccupied by some other application. If this is thecase, you should wait for completion of the currentjob or should press Release port button, if you aresure that the present owner is not functioningproperly.• Check if your application has special print optionsuch as “-oraw”. If “-oraw” is specified in thecommand line parameter then remove it to printproperly. For Gimp front-end, select “print” ->“Setup printer” and edit command line parameterin the command item.The machine doesnot appear on thescanners list.• Check if your machine is attached to yourcomputer. Make sure that it is connected properlyvia the USB port and is turned on.• Check if the scanner driver for your machine isinstalled in your system. Open MFP Configurator,switch to Scanners configuration, then pressDrivers. Make sure that driver with a namecorresponding to your machine's name is listed inthe window.
