Touch to store each new settings.Types of MessagesYour phone provides the following message types:• Text Messages• Multimedia (Picture and Video) Messages• IM MessagesThe Short Message Service (SMS) lets you send and receive textmessages to and from other mobile phones. To use this feature,you must subscribe to your service provider’s message service.The Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) lets you send andreceive multimedia messages (such as picture messages andvideo messages) to and from other mobile phones. To use thisfeature, you must subscribe to your service provider’s multimediamessage service.Important!: When creating a message, adding an image, a sound file, or avideo clip to a text message changes the message from a textmessage to a multimedia message.Message NotificationsMessaging icons are displayed at the top of the screen andindicate when messages are received and their type. For moreinformation, refer to “Icons” on page 15.The New Messages tab is an area that displays on the screenwhen a missed call, new message, or voicemail is sent to thephone. Three of the New Message tabs that each have their ownicons:SaveDisplays within the New Messages tab indicatingwhen a new text message is received.Displays within the New Messages tab indicating acall has been missed.Displays within the New Messages tab indicatingwhen a new voicemail message is received.
