35Muting or Sending Keypad TonesThese options allow you to turn the key tones off or on. If theMute Keypad Tone option is selected, it allows you to press keyswithout hearing key tones during a call.Note: To communicate with answering machines or computerized telephonesystems, the Send Keypad Tone option must be selected.Switching off the Microphone (Mute)You can temporarily switch your phone’s microphone off, so thatthe other person cannot hear you.Example: You wish to say something to person in the room, but do not wantthe person on the phone to hear you.Note: If you are already in Video Share or you have a call on hold, you need toselect Mute/Unmute.To switch the microphone off temporarily during a call:1. Touch Mute. The option is then replaced with Unmute.2. Touch Unmute to deactivate the Mute function andreactivate the microphone.Searching for a Number in Address Book1. During the active call, touch Address Book.2. Touch the Address Book entry.For further details about the Address Book feature, see “Findingan Address Book Entry” on page 79.Call WaitingThe Call Waiting feature allows you to answer an incoming callwhile you have a call in progress, if this service is supported bythe network, and you have set the Settings ➔ Call s ➔ Voice Call➔ Call Waiting Menu to Activated. You are notified of anincoming call by a call waiting tone.To answer a call while you have a call in progress:1. Press to answer the next incoming call. The firstcall is automatically put on hold.2. To switch between the two calls, touch More ➔ Swap.• Swap: Places the current call on hold and then activates theprevious call.To end a call on hold:1. Touch the On hold tab and touch adjacent to thecaller you wish to disconnect.2. Press to end the current active call.
