120Access CodesThere are several access codes that are used byyour phone and its SIM card. These codes help youprotect the phone against unauthorized use.When requested for any of the codes explainedbelow, key in the appropriate code (displayed asasterisks) and press the OK soft key. If you make amistake, press the key until the incorrect digitis cleared and then continue entering the correctcode.The access codes, except for the PUK and PUK2codes can be changed using the Security menuoption (Menu 6.6). See page 89 for furtherdetails.Important! Avoid using access codes resemblingemergency numbers, such as 911, sothat you do not dial an emergencynumber accidentally.If you do not have your PIN, please contact yournetwork service provider. If you change any of thedefault access codes, please store the new codes ina safe place for reference. If you lose your codes,you will need to contact your network serviceprovider to unlock your phone.Access Codes121Phone PasswordThe Phone Lock feature uses the phone password toprotect your phone against unauthorized use. Thephone password is supplied with the phone and isfactory set to “00000000.”PINThe Personal Identification Number or PIN (4 to8 digits) protects your SIM card againstunauthorized use. It is usually supplied with theSIM card. The default PIN is “1111.”If you enter an incorrect PIN three times insuccession, the code is disabled and cannot be useduntil you re-enable it by entering the PUK (seebelow).To...
