33Functions ( )White balanceThe white balance control allows you toadjust the colours to appear more natural.Mode Icon DescriptionAuto WBThe camera automatically selects the ap-propriate white balance settings, dependingon the prevailing lighting conditions.Daylight For taking images outside.Cloudy For taking images under a cloudy andovercast sky.Fluorescent_H For shooting under daylight fluorescenttypes of three-way fluorescent lighting.Fluorescent_L Shooting under white fluorescent lighting.Tungsten For shooting under tungsten (standard lightbulb) lighting.Custom Set Allows the user to set the white balanceaccording to the shooting condition.Ä Different lighting conditions may cause a colour cast on your images. Using the Custom White BalanceWhite balance settings may vary slightly depending on theshooting environment. You can select the most appropriatewhite balance setting for a given shooting environment by settingup the custom white balance.1. Select the CUSTOM ( ) menu ofthe White Balance and place a sheetof white paper in front of the cameraso that the LCD monitor shows onlywhite.2.
