From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings.2. Tap Lock screen and security > Screen locktype to select a screen lock and level of security:• Swipe: Swipe the screen to unlock it. Thisoption provides no security.• Pattern: Create a pattern that you draw onthe screen to unlock your device. This optionprovides medium security.• PIN: Select a PIN to use for unlocking thescreen. This option provides medium to highsecurity.• Password: Create a password for unlockingthe screen. This option provides high security.• Fingerprints: Use fingerprint recognitionto unlock the screen. This option providesmedium to high security.• None: Never use a Lock screen.3. Select your notification preferences, if youchoose a secured lock screen option:• Show content• Hide content• Do not show notifications4. Choose a screen lock option:• Info and app shortcuts: Display a dual clock,owner information, and app shortcuts on theLock screen.• Notifications on lock screen: Shownotifications on the Lock screen.• Secure lock settings: Set your secure lockfunctions such as Secured lock time, Autofactory reset, and Smart lock. This option isnot available with Swipe.Note: Options vary based on the screen lock type.FingerprintsUse fingerprint recognition as an alternative toentering passwords in certain apps.You can also use your fingerprint to verify youridentity when logging in to your Samsung account.Note: Fingerprint recognition uses the uniquecharacteristics of each fingerprint to enhance thesecurity of your device. The likelihood of the fingerprintsensor confusing even small areas of two differentfingerprints is very low.
