Setup button/sectionPlay Electric – Reference manual (2014-07-16) 36Switch-3 page (7/8)Control parameterSwitch-3 is an optional, high-quality remote con-trol which you can use with your TC-Helicon de-vice. Use the Control parameter to set the func-tionality of connected Switch-3.Loop Mode settingWith the Loop Mode setting, the three foot-switches on a Switch-3 will control loop func-tions:► Button 1 activates Record / Play / Overdub.► Button 2 stops recording/playback and can beused to erase the loop (by holding).► Button 3 is used for Undo.Custom settingWith the Custom setting, you can assign func-tions to the three footswitches on a Switch-3from a list.Simply press the soft button next to “Switch 1”,“Switch 2” or “Switch 3” on the right side of thedisplay and use the Control Knob to define thefunction the respective footswitch should con-trol.The available settings are:► Loop Rec/Play► Loop Stop/Clear► Loop Undo► Loop Start/Stop► 1 Btn Looper► Tap Tempo► Set Key► Preset Down► Preset Up► Hit► Harmony► Harm Moment► Doubling► Delay► Delay Moment► Reverb► HardTune► Transducer► μMod► Gtr Amp► Gtr Boost► Gtr Compressor► Gtr μMod► Gtr Delay► Gtr ReverbHarm Moment and Delay MomentWhen you have selected the Custom setting, twomenu items work slightly differently from the oth-ers: Harm Moment and Delay Moment.With “Harm Moment” and “Delay Moment”, therespective effect (harmony voices or delay) isactive only as long as you press down the foot-switch. Some users prefer the precision offeredby this mode.1 Btn Looper settingThe 1 Btn Looper (1 Button Looper) setting isa convenient way to control all relevant Looperfunctions using a single footswitch. This allowsyou to assign the two remaining buttons on aSwitch-3 for other features (e.g. Hit).► With no loop present, tap the footswitch onceto record.► Tap the footswitch again to define the looplength and switch to loop playback.► Tap the footswitch again to overdub duringplayback.► Hold the footswitch to undo the last overdub.► Hold the footswitch again to restore (redo) thelast overdub.► Tap the footswitch twice quickly to stop.Please note that when stopping, a short por-tion of audio is recorded.► Tap the footswitch to play or hold to erase theloop.Tip: If you prefer to have Play Electric up on amusic stand, you can use “Preset DN”, “PresetUP” and “HIT” as your custom Switch-3 assign-ments to replicate the footswitch controls.
