If the site isnot fully secure, the base station should at least be locked in a secure cabinetto prevent unauthorized access.The base station control panel provides access to the speaker, microphoneinput and alarm status display. It is important that control panel access isrestricted to authorized maintainers only in order to ensure theconfidentiality of voice communications and alarm status information.Grounding and Lightning ProtectionElectrical Ground The TB9100 base station modules are grounded by physical contactbetween the module case and the subrack. To ensure a good groundconnection you must tighten each module retaining clamp securely (refer to“Final Reassembly” on page 88 for the correct torque).A threaded grounding connector is provided on the rear of the subrack forconnection to the site ground point (refer to “Connecting Up the BaseStation” on page 52 for more details).Lightning Ground It is extremely important for the security of the site and its equipment thatyou take adequate precautions against lightning strike. Because it is outsidethe scope of this manual to provide comprehensive information on thissubject, we recommend that you conform to your country’s standardsorganization or regulatory body.
