The first two stages concern the two-digit-display controlhead only, not the blank control head. The three stages are:■ re-assemble mechanical parts of control head■ re-install control-head board■ re-attach control headThe procedures for the three stages are given separately below. The firststage is required only if the control head has been completelydisassembled. The second stage is required if the control-head board hasbeen removed; this stage includes the fitting, if applicable, of the circuitboard for optional concealed and dynamic microphones. The torquevalues for the screws involved are included in Table 3.3.Re-assemble mechanicalparts of control headIf the two-digit-display control head has been completely disassembled,re-assemble the mechanical parts as follows:1. Ensure that the LCD is free of dirt and fingerprints. Wipe theLCD with a soft lens-cleaning cloth. If necessary, clean the LCDusing isopropyl alcohol.2. Place the LCD in its recess in the cover as shown in Figure 3.4.There is only one correct orientation: the small protrusion on theedge of the LCD must be adjacent to the wall of the front panel.3. Place the keypad in position on the floor of the front panel.4. Place the speaker in position and, if included, the concealedmicrophone.5. Place the space-frame in position. Ensure that the leads from thespeaker and, if fitted, the concealed microphone do not foul theframe. The leads will need to be connected to the top of thecontrol-head board when the board is installed.6. Press down on the space-frame until all six clips on the frame snapinto place in their recesses.7. Ensure that the conductors along the edges of the two elastomericstrips are clean. Wipe the strips with a soft lens-cleaning cloth. Ifnecessary, clean the strips using isopropyl alcohol.8. Insert the two elastomeric strips in their slots in the space-frame.
