1 – IntroductionTASCAM DM-24 Automation 5SetupThere are two possible sources of time code to whichthe DM-24’s automation can lock. Both are equal infunctionality and accuracy. Your choice will dependon what you have available in your situation. Thechoices are:LTCThere is an RCA jack (TIME CODE on the back ofthe DM-24 which accepts Linear Time Code(SMPTE/EBU).To use LTC with the automation system, go to theSYNC/TC tab in the OPTION display, and then select TCIN as shown below:Figure 1 – OPTION / SYNC/TC display showing LTC choiceMTCThis refers to MIDI Time Code being received at theDM-24’s MIDI Input. The source of MTC could be aDigital Audio Workstation (DAW), hardwarerecorder that does not support LTC, or any othersource of MTC.To use MTC with the automation, go to the SYNC/TCtab in the OPTION display then select MIDI IN MTC asshown below.Figure 2 – OPTION / SYNC/TC display showing MTC choice
