Press the RECORD [0] button to start recordingstandby.The REC indicator will blink and the recording screenwill open.2. Press the QUICK button to open the quick menu.3. Use the + or − button to select (highlight) LEVEL MODE,and press the ENTER/MARK button.This opens the LEVEL MODE setting screen.4. Use the + or – button to change the LEVEL MODE settingto MANUAL.5. Press the ENTER/MARK button to enable it and returnto the Recording Screen.The selected mode is shown with an icon in therecording screen.Adjusting the input level1. Press the RECORD [0] button to begin recordingstandby.The REC indicator will blink and the recording screenwill open.2. Adjust the input level using the INPUT LEVEL + or –button on the left side panel.When you press the INPUT LEVEL + or – button on theleft side of the unit, a pull-up with a meter showing theinput level will appear at the bottom of the display.The PEAK indicator to the right of the display lights redwhen the input level is too high.Set the input level so that the indicator bars fluctuatecentered on -12 without causing the PEAK indicator tolight red when the loudest sounds occur.NOTEi The INPUT LEVEL setting pull-up menu that opens whenyou press an INPUT LEVEL (+/−) buttons on the left sideof the unit will appear according to the input source.One of the following four labels will appear.INT MIC LVL: Built-in mic levelEXT IN LVL: external input levelEXT Lch LVL: external input left channel levelEXT Rch LVL: external input right channel leveli When the input selection on the REC MODE screen (SOURCEor EXT IN) is EXT only, use the following buttons to switchbetweenEXT Lch LVL and EXT Rch LVL.REC MODE ButtonSTEREO1/2 buttonDUALOVERDUB SEPARATE4CH 3/4 buttonOVERDUB MIXi Press the ¤ (HOME) [8] button to end recordingstandby.i When in recording standby or recording, the speakerwill not sound even if the I/O SETTING screen SPEAKERsetting is ON.Connect headphones to the /LINE OUT jack if you wantto adjust the level or record while monitoring the input.Use the + or − button in the Home screen to adjust themonitoring volume. This does not affect the sound to berecorded.
