Do not turn phantom power on whenconnecting a mic that does not require phantompower.• Turning phantom power on when a dynamic micor other mic that does not require it is connectedcould damage this unit and connectedequipment.• Do not connect or disconnect mics whilephantom power is on. Doing so could causea loud noise and might damage this unit andconnected equipment.• Set the LINE OUT and PHONES knobs to theirminimum values before turning phantompower on/off. Depending on the connectedmics, sudden loud noises from monitoringequipment could occur, and this could damagethe equipment or harm hearing.• Supplying phantom power to some ribbon micswill break them. If you are unsure, do not supplyphantom power to a ribbon mic.Connecting with iOS devicesUS-2x2: You will need a Lightning to USB CameraAdapter1 and an AC adapter (sold separately).2US-4x4: You will need a Lightning to USB CameraAdapter.11 You must obtain a genuine Apple Lightning to USBCamera Adapter separately.2 DC5V TASCAM PS-P520 AC adapter (sold separately)Adjusting the input soundAnalog audio signals input into this device from mics,guitars, keyboards and other audio equipment can beconverted into digital signals and transmitted to thecomputer via USB.You can use the features of this unit to adjust thedigital signals that are sent to the computer.In addition, by connecting speakers (through anamplifier if not powered) or headphones to this unit,you can monitor audio signals that are input to thisunit and output from the computer.Use the various controls on the front of the unit asnecessary while listening to the input sound.Example using a US-4x451 23 4 6Use the GAIN knobs (4) to adjust the analog inputlevels of the IN1/IN2 jacks (1) or IN3/IN4 jacks (2,US-4x4 only) so that the PEAK indicators (3) aboveand to the right of the knobs do not light.To listen to the monitoring signal using headphones,connect the headphones to the PHONES jack (5)and adjust the PHONES knob (6).NOTEIf you cannot hear the input sound through theheadphones or the LINE OUT (BALANCED)jacks, check the settings of the MONITORBALANCE knob on the front of the unit and theLine Outputs item on the Settings Panel screen.
