TASCAM US-428 Driver Version 3.2.1Installation/Removal Procedures for Mac OSX 10.2.3 or laterThe file (US428_OSX_3_21.sit) is a self-extracting archive, which means that Stuffit willautomatically expand the file once it is finished downloading it. Once unStuffed, OSX’s Disk Copyapplication will mount the disk image on the desktop and open the folder.Before installing the 3.2.1 drivers, remove any older version, if one is present.To remove an older version:1. Double-click on the ‘US-428 Remover’ icon.2. If necessary enter your Name and/or Password in the ‘Authenticate’ window to allow softwarechanges under Mac OS10.x and then click ‘OK’.3. You should now see the ‘Welcome to the US-428 Software Remove Installer’. Turn OFF yourUS-428 and then click ‘Continue’ to advance to the next window.4. ‘Select a destination disk’ – refers to the disk from which you want the files removed. Selectthe appropriate disk and click ‘Continue’.5. ‘Easy Install’ – click ‘Upgrade’. A warning will appear reminding you that you will have torestart your computer at the end of this process. Acknowledge by either clicking ‘ContinueInstallation’ or pressing ‘Return’. If you do not wish to continue you may click ‘Cancel’ at thispoint.6. After the software has been successfully removed (it will say ‘Installed’) click ‘Restart’ tocomplete the process. Once your computer has restarted you will be ready to install the newversion 3.2.1 driver software.To install the 3.2.1 driver software:Note – This software can only be used with Mac OS X 10.2.3 or later.1. Open the ‘US-428 Installer’ folder and double-click on the ‘US-428 Installer’ icon.2. If necessary enter your Name and/or Password into the ‘Authenticate’ window to allowsoftware changes under Mac OS10.x and click ‘OK’.3. You should now see the ‘Welcome to the US-428 v. 3.2.1 Installer’. This process will installthe following files:a. US-428 Manager application (in Applications)b. US-428 Driver (in System/Library/Extensions)c. US-428 MIDI Plug-in (in Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers)d. US-428 Assistants (in Library/Application Support)e. US-428 Icon (in Library/Audio/MIDI Devices/Generic/Images)Turn OFF your US-428 device and click ‘Continue’ to advance to the next window.4. ‘Important Information’ – this window provides a brief description of each file installed andoffers the option to print if desired. Click ‘Continue’ to proceed.5. ‘Software License Agreement’ – Please read and then click ‘Continue’ to proceed and verifythat you agree with the Software License Agreement on the warning panel.6. ‘Select a destination disk’ – Select the appropriate device and click ‘Continue’.7. ‘Easy Install’ – click ‘Upgrade’.
