Operator's ManualSeventh Edition • Second PrintingPart No. 226478 S-40 • S-45 23Ground Control Panel1 Turntable rotate switchMove the turntable rotateswitch to the right and theturntable will rotate to the right.Move the turntable rotateswitch to the left and theturntable will rotate to the left.2 Boom up/down switchMove the boom up/down switchup and the boom will raise.Move the boom up/downswitch down and the boom willlower.3 Boom extend/retract switchMove the boom extend/retractswitch to the right and theboom will extend. Move theboom extend/retract switch tothe left and the boom willretract.4 Platform overload indicator lightLight flashing indicates the platform isoverloaded. The engine will shut off and nofunctions will operate. Remove weight until thelight goes off and then restart the engine.5 Not used6 Auxiliary power switchUse auxiliary power if the primary power source(engine) fails.Simultaneously hold the auxiliary power switchto either side and activate the desired function.7 Gasoline/LPG models: Water temperature gaugeDiesel models: Oil temperature gauge8 Key switch for platform/off/ground selectionTurn the key switch to the platform position andthe platform controls will operate. Turn the keyswitch to the off position and the machine willbe off. Turn the key switch to the groundposition and the the ground controls will operate.9 Oil pressure gauge10 Voltage gauge11 Red Emergency Stop buttonPush in red Emergency Stop button to the offposition to stop all functions and turn the engineoff. Pull out the red Emergency Stop button tothe on position to operate the machine.12 Check engine lightLight on and engine stopped: Tag the machineand remove from service.Light on and engine still running: Contactservice personnel within 24 hours.13 Hour meterThe hour meter displays the number of hours themachine has operated.14 Gasoline/LPG models: Fuel select switchMove the fuel select switch to the gasolineposition to select gasoline.
