Improper coolantlevel will affect the engine’s cooling capability anddamage engine components. Daily checks willallow the inspector to identify changes in coolantlevel that might indicate cooling system problems.Burn hazard. Beware of hot engine parts andcoolant. Contact with hot engine parts and/orcoolant may cause severe burns.Burn hazard. Do not remove the radiator capif the engine has been running. Contact withpressurized coolant may cause severe burns.Allow engine to cool before removing the radiatorcap.1 Check the fluid level in the coolant recoverytank. Add fluid as needed.Result: The fluid level should be at the FULL markon the tank or visible in the sight gauge.Check the Hydraulic Oil LevelMaintaining the hydraulic oil at the proper level isessential to machine operation. Improper hydraulicoil levels can damage hydraulic components. Dailychecks allow the inspector to identify changesin oil level that might indicate the presence ofhydraulic system problems.1 Be sure that the boom is in the stowed position.2 Visually inspect the sight gauge located on theside of the hydraulic oil tank.Result: The hydraulic oil level should be withinthe top 5 cm of the sight gauge.3 Add oil as needed.
