Chapter OverviewThis chapter provides information on general mainte-nance procedures for the PT-100 Forestry. If there isan issue that requires troubleshooting, refer to Chapter13, Troubleshooting.Personal SafetyImproper or incomplete maintenance/repair of aCompact Track Loader can be dangerous and mayresult in machine damage, injury or death.Do not attempt to perform any type of repair or mainte-nance on a Compact Track Loader until you have readand fully understood the information in this manual.Refer to the Operation and Maintenance manual for in-structions regarding proper machine operation tech-niques before operating any Compact Track Loader.Prior to performing any type of service work on aCompact Track Loader, read and understand Chapter1 (Product Safety) for personal safety information.Air CleanerYour PT-100 Forestry compact track loader isequipped with two air filter elements to remove con-taminants from the air your engine uses for combus-tion. Regular inspection and replacement of the filterelements is necessary to ensure proper performanceand to prolong engine life.To remove and inspect your air cleaner elements:1. Turn the engine off.2. Open the hood at the rear of the PT-100 Forestryto gain access to the engine compartment.3. Locate the black plastic air cleaner enclosure nearthe top left of the engine compartment (whenviewed from the rear).4. Remove the cover by pulling out on the yellowslide-lock (A) located near the top of the air clean-er enclosure. Then rotate the cover counter-clock-wise approximately 1/8 turn and remove.
