6Front panel controls On / Off switch. The green LED glows when the unit is switched on andready to use.Note:If the SADV 1245 R is connected to a pre-amplifier,integrated amplifier or receiver within an 'R' system, itcan be switched off, with the whole system, by pressingthe button on the remote control handset.Note:The mains button does not disconnect the device fromthe mains completely. Some parts of the circuit are stilllive when the unit is switched off. CD DrawerThe drawer of the SADV 1245 R consists of acombination of a special plastic with good dampingqualities, and solid, precision-machined treatedaluminium. It’s floating and flexible suspension systemeliminates the transfer of mechanical vibration to the disc, which can have an adverse effect on the sound. Button for opening and closing the drawer. With this button, the bandwidth of the analogue outputfilter for SACD playback can be switched between60 kHz (normal mode) or 100 kHz ('WIDE' mode).A security switch at the back panel of the SADV 1245 Rmust be set to the 'WIDE ENABLE' to allow the widebandwidth position to be chosen. 'WIDE' mode cannot bechosen without the security switch set to 'WIDEENABLE' (also see: chapter 'Back PanelConnections').Note:The position 'WIDE' should only be used in combinationwith amplifiers that are capable of reproducing audiofrequencies up to or beyond 400 kHz. If in doubt, pleaseconsult the manual of your amplifier or ask themanufacturer. In combination with all amplifiers the 'WIDE' positioncan be used without limitation. (CD and SACD only)With this button the video section of the SADV 1245 Rcan be switched off. When switched off the high frequency video signals cannot influence the susceptible audio signals. Switching offthe video section is recommended for highest possibleaudio reproduction quality. Selection of the oversampling methodRepeatedly pressing this button cyclically steps throughthe various oversampling algorithms offered by theSADV 1245 R.For SACD and CD playback each have two different setsof oversampling algorithms. These special algorithmsimplemented in the SADV 1245 R are optimised for eachdata format.A detailed description of the oversampling algorithms canbe found in chapter 'Technical DescriptionOversampling'. Selects the audio playback mode• SACD• When the disc is stopped this button choosesbetween the CD or SACD layer of hybrid SACDs.• During playback of SACDs with stereo andmultichannel areas this button toggles betweenstereo or multichannel playback.• DVD• Selection of the DVD sound track (language oraudio format), if there are different sound trackson the disc.
