Install the first surge protectorwithin one meter of the airFiber DATA port, and install thesecond surge protector at the ingress point of the locationhousing the wired network equipment.Ground to Pole, Tower,or Grounding Block:Max. 1 m from AF-5XMax. 1 mairFiberPoE AdapterEdgeRouter ™Power SourceETH-SPGPS AntennaETH-SPAF-5XMounted onAF-5G30-S45AlignmentTips• To accurately align the airFiber radios for bestperformance, you MUST align only one end of the link ata time.• You may need to use additional hardware tocompensate for issues such as the improper orientationof a mounting pole or significant elevation differencesbetween airFiber radios.Establishing a LinkAdjust the positions of the Master and the Slave toestablish a link. The following guide features the airFiberantenna, AF-5G30-S45:Note: The Master must be aimed first at the Slavebecause the Slave does not transmit any RF signaluntil it detects transmissions from the Master.1. Master Visually aim the Master at the Slave. To adjustthe Master’s position:a. Loosen the four pole clamp nuts, and rotate theairFiber antenna on the pole to align the azimuth.b. Loosen the six elevation bolts, and use the hex nut onthe elevation rod to adjust the elevation.Note: Do NOT make simultaneous adjustments onthe Master and Slave.2. Slave Visually aim the Slave at the Master. To adjust theSlave’s position:a. Loosen the four pole clamp nuts, and rotate theairFiber antenna on the pole to align the azimuth.b. Loosen the six elevation bolts, and use the hex nut onthe elevation rod to adjust the elevation.
