16 17Replacing the battery1. Gently swing out the batterydoor with your fingernail.2. Grasp the battery with yourthumb and index finger andremove.3. Insert the new battery into thebattery compartment with theplus (+) sign on the batteryfacing the same way as theplus (+) sign on the side of thebattery door. This will ensurethat the battery door closesproperly.Note: If the battery is insertedincorrectly, the hearing aid will notturn on.4. Close the battery door.Note: There is a tamper proofbattery door option for thesehearing aids. Please see your hearinghealthcare professional for further information.2.3.1.4.Caring for batteriesIf you have the rechargeable option, please seethe Charging base guide for instructions on howto care for your rechargeable batteries.• Always discard batteries in a safe andenvironmentally friendly way.• To prolong battery life, remember to turnyour hearing aids off when not in use.• Remove the batteries and keep the batterydoor open while hearing aids are not inuse. This will allow internal moisture toevaporate.
