Installation instructions geoTHERM VWS 0020046310_01246 Electrical installation6.1 Safety and installation informatione Danger!Risk of electric shock!Always switch off all power supplies be-fore carrying out electrical installationwork. Make sure that they are securedagainst inadvertent switching on again.e Danger!Risk of electric shock! The electrical connection must be equip-ped with a customer-supplied isolationdevice having a contact separation of atleast 3 mm on all lines (e.g. a line pro-tection switch). It makes sense to fit this isolation device in the immedi-ate vicinity of the heat pump.a Caution!Risk of damage! The electrical installation may only beundertaken by an authorised engineer.a Caution!Risk of short circuits! When connecting 230 V lines to theProE plug, do not strip the insulationback by more than 30 mm for safety re-asons.If you strip back by more than this, there is a risk of short circuits to thePCB if the lines are not correctly atta-ched in the plug.a Caution!Risk of malfunction! The lines for the outside temperaturesensor and the room thermostat carrysmall, weak currents. Interference fromthe environment can have an effect onthe sensor lines and transmit incorrectinformation to the heat pump controller, and for this reason the sensor linesmust be run absolutely correctly.Low current lines must be run at an ade-quate distance from high current lines. Iflow and high current lines are run in par-allel, a minimum distance of 25 cm ap-plies for lengths greater than 10 m.Furthermore, take note:– For power, connect the heat pump to a 230 V mainssupply with one neutral and one earth conductor.Fuse this connection as specified in the technical data.– Install the heat pump with a fixed mains connection.– The required conductor cross sections must be deter-mined by a qualified technician, using the values spe-cified in the technical data for the maximum ratedoutput. In any case, take into account the on-site in-stallation conditions.– If the local power company stipulates that the heatpump should be controlled by a blocking signal, fit anappropriate contact switch, as specified by the powercompany, and connect it to the heat pump with a two-core cable.6.2 Regulations pertaining to electrical installa-tionsThe maximum sensor cable length of 50 m may not beexceeded.Where lengths are greater than 10m, route the connec-tion cables carrying 230V separately from the sensor orbus cables.Do not use free terminals on the appliance as supportterminals for other wiring.6 Electrical installation
