The shift lever is located on theconsole between the seats.P (Park): This position locks the frontwheels. It is the recommendedposition when starting the propulsionsystem because the vehicle cannotmove easily.9 WarningIt is dangerous to get out of thevehicle if the shift lever is not fullyin P with the parking brake firmlyapplied. The vehicle can roll.Do not leave the vehicle when thepropulsion system is running, thevehicle may move suddenly. Youor others can be injured. To besure the vehicle will not move,even if you are on even ground,always apply the parking brakeand move the shift lever to P.Make sure the shift lever is fully in Pbefore starting the propulsion system.The vehicle has an electric drive unitshift lock control system. The brakepedal must be fully applied first andthen the shift lever button pressedbefore shifting from P when theignition is on. If you cannot shift out ofP, ease the pressure on the shiftlever, then push the shift lever all theway into P maintaining brake pedal
