Regular maintenance asdetailed in the Service Book let is thereforeof the utmost importance for traffic safety.Hav e worn brak e pa ds replaced. Werecom mend tha t you consult your VauxhallApproved Repairer, who will fit parts thathave been tested and app rov ed b yVauxhall and guarantee optimum b ra kingpower.Foot brakeThe braking system comprises twoseparate, brak e circuits. If one bra ke circuitshould fail, the v ehicle c an still be stoppedwith the second remaining circuit. If thisha ppens, the brake peda l must be fullydepressed with greater peda l pressure. Thedistance required for braking will b egreater. Consult a workshop beforecontinuing to drive. We recommend thatyou consult a Vauxhall Approved Rep airer.In order to utilise the full pedal travel -particularly in the ev ent of a b ra ke circ uitfault - there must be no m ats in the area ofthe peda ls.With the engine stop ped the servoassistance is discontinued after the brak epedal has been depressed once or twice.The b ra king action w ill not be reduced butincrea sed foot pressure will be necessary.Take extra care when the vehicle is beingtowed.C heck the brake lamps before starting outon a journey . Shortly after the start of eachjourney the brake sy stem should be testedat low speed for its effectiveness, especiallyif the brakes are wet, e.g. a fter washingy our v ehicle.The brake fluid level should be checkedregula rly , see page 82.
