Chapter 3 — The Video Playback Controller 147Using PlaylistThe CineCast Playlist feature is used to create, modify, and/or play back a listof files in the playlist. In order to do this, activate the Playlist GUI by clickingon the Playlist button on the playback controller window (Figure 3-1). Foran explanation of buttons and features on the toolbar, refer to “Playback Con-troller Window,” page 143Creating, Modifying, or Opening a PlaylistThe Playlist GUI window (Figure 3-2) is used to create new playlists or modifyexisting ones. To create a playlist (.vpl file extension), MPEG files are added tothe list. This is done by clicking and dragging files into the list area of the GUI orby clicking on the Add button. When the Add button is clicked, an Open Filewindow will appear (Figure 3-3). Use this window to select the clip file(s) to beadded to the playlist.To open an existing playlist, click on the Playlist GUI window Browsebutton (labeled “…”). This brings up an Open Files dialog window (Fig-ure 3-4) from which a playlist file can be selected and opened. Pleasenote that only one playlist file can be opened and played at a time.Once a playlist file is opened, it can be modified. New clips can be added to it byclicking on the Add button. Clips can be deleted by clicking on the Delete button.The order of the playback of the clips can be changed. This is done by clickingand dragging a clip to a desired position in the list.Figure 3-2.
