Pressed through the tip at a pressure ofup to a maximum of 221 bar (22.1 MPa), the coating materialis atomised. This high pressure has the effect of micro fineatomisation of the coating material. As no air is used in this process, it is described as an AIRLESSprocess. This method of spraying has the advantages of finestatomisation, cloudless operation and a smooth, bubble-freesurface. As well as these, the advantages of the speed of workand convenience must be mentioned.3.2 FuNcTIoNING oF THe uNITIn the following there is a short description of the technicalconstruction for better understanding of the function.Wagner PS 3.21 units are electrically driven high-pressurespraying units.A gear unit transfers the driving force to a crankshaft. Thecrankshaft moves the pistons of the material feed pump up anddown. The inlet valve is opened automatically by the upwardsmovement of the piston. The outlet valve is opened when thepiston moves downward. The coating material flows under high pressure through thehigh-pressure hose to the spray gun. When the coating materialexits from the tip it atomizes. The pressure control knob controls the volume and theoperating pressure of the coating material.3.3 TecHNIcAL dATAVoltage220~240 VAC, 50/60 Hzmax. current consumption4.5 APower cord3 x 1.5 mm2 – 6 mAcceptance capacity1035 Wattmax. operating pressure221 bar (22.1 MPa)Volume flow at 12 mPa (120 bar) with water2.0 l/minmax tip size0.023 inch – 0.58 mmmax. temperature of the coating material43°Cmax viscosity20.000 MPa·sWeight30 kgSpecial high-pressure hoseDN 6 mm, 15 m, connection thread M 16x 1.5dimensions (L x W x H)611 x 481 x 734 mmAltitudeThis equipment will operate correctly upto 2000 m above mean sea levelVibrationSpray gun does not exceed 2.5m/s2max sound pressure level80 dB** Place of measurement: 1 m distance from unit and1.60m above floor, 12 MPa (120 bar) operating pressure, reverberant floor
