Global Parameters – Global Menu121 Waldorf Q User’s Manual. After you bought your 128th Q please get in contact with Waldorf Electronics. You willreceive a personally decive number that authorize you to have a diner with our manager.Tuning430…450 HzTuning |Transpose440Hz | +00Controls the Q’s overall pitch in Hertz. The value specified here is the reference pitch for MIDI noteA3. The default setting is 440Hz, which is commonly used by most instruments.m You should only change this setting if you really know what you’re doing. You will have toadjust all your other instruments, too. Don’t forget to set it back again!Transpose-12…+12Tuning |Transpose440Hz | +00Allows to set a global pitch transpose for the keyboard and the tone generation. Transpose shifts thekeyboard by the number of semitones and therefore shifts the MIDI note messages that are sent. Also, incoming MIDI notes are shifted by the number of semitones.Local Control (only Q Keyboard)Off / OnLocal ControlOnDetermines, if the keyboard, pitch bend and modulation wheel are coupled to the internal tonegeneration. When set toOn, the Q sends all note information and controller data to the tonegeneration and eventually over MIDI. When set toOff, the Q doesn’t send any note information to itstone generation but works similar to a MIDI master keyboard.w This is one of the most important parameters when working in a MIDI setup. As soon as youconnect the Q to a sequencer by MIDI, you should set Local Control toOff. The MIDI dataflow then is as follows: when you play a note on the Q, it is send to the sequencer. Thesequencer eventually maps the note to a different MIDI channel and sends it out through aspecific MIDI port. With this method you can control your whole MIDI setup and also play theQ’s tone generation if you set the sequencer to send MIDI notes to the Q.ClockInternal / Send / Auto / Auto-ThruClockInternalPlease read the chapter “The Tempo” for deep information about the Clock parameter.Controller SendOff / Ctl / SysEx / Ctl+SysExController Send/RecvCtl+SysEx| onDetermines how Real-Time Sound Parameter Changes are sent by the Q over MIDI.
