Raise deck to tiltup position using tilt bar andsecure in position by inserting the deck hook inthe tiltup latch on the tractor body as shown inthe Deck Secured in TILT-UP Position photo.Tilt BarTiltUp Hook andLatch ConnectedTiltUpHookTiltUpLatchHitch PinDeck Secured in TILT-UP PositionDANGERDo not operate the mower with deck in tilt-up position. Do not move the tractor withthe deck in the tilt-up position.6. Clean grass buildup underneath the deck usinga pressure washer (and scraper if required).NOTE: If the buildup is severe, it may be easierto clean the deck by removing the deck assembly from the tractor and standing the deck assembly on its “nose”.NOTE: While some degree of material buildupin the mower deck housing can be tolerated, apoint is finally reached where cutting qualitydeteriorates and clogging begins to occurbecause of too much buildup on the baffling andhousing.7. Lower the deck to the normal operating positionand rotate locking arms downward into theLOCKED position.CAUTIONDo not operate mower with deck tilt-uppivot joint UNLOCKED. Make sure lock-ing arms are in the LOCKED position andthe tilt-up joint is rigid (locked).8. Remove tilt bar and stow on carrier frame.9. Move footrests to desired position.Transaxle HousingKeeping the housing on the transaxles clean andfree of obstruction is essential to avoid overheat-ing the transaxle fluid and shortening transaxle life.The housing should be checked every 100 hoursand cleaned if necessary.To clean the housing, use compressed air and/or apressure washer. Pay close attention to any oily dirtbuildup on the transaxle housings. This may be theresult of an oil leak. If an oil leak is noticed, contactyour local Walker dealer.
