Load the paper using the following guidelines:For best results when printing the second side, feed sheets individually or slip-feed(feed a blank sheet between each printed sheet) to prevent toner from sticking toadjacent pages.a. Determine whether to load media short or long edge first (see “LoadingMedia” earlier in this chapter).b. Print a test page or check your software documentation to determine theorientation of the media’s top edge.c. Load media into the multipurpose feeder print side up.4. Print the second side.Printing EnvelopesWhen printing envelopes, use the multipurpose cassette and follow the procedure inchapter 1 for that cassette.• Use No. 4 envelopes and load them print side up in landscape orientation.• Do not use gummed envelopes or envelopes with adhesive tape.• Before loading, place each envelope on a flat surface and press it smooth to makethe corners and folds as flat as possible.• Load envelopes flap closed in the multipurpose cassette to provide the best printquality in the address area.• Never print on the flap portion or back of the envelope. This can cause a jam.• Format envelopes in your application and run a plain paper test print to checkflap alignment before running on more expensive envelope stock.• Do not use foil-covered, embossed envelopes, or multi-color printed postcardlike Kamo-mail.
