125Xerox Secure AccessXerox Secure Access enables customers to leverage Xerox Partner Solutions to provide userauthentication with an optional card reader. Users can access the features available at the device oncethey have been authenticated.Secure Access and AccountingSecure Access can be enabled with the Network Accounting, Xerox Standard Accounting, and Auditronfeatures for accounting purposes. When Network Accounting is enabled, the device can be configured toautomatically obtain accounting data from the Network Accounting server when the user is authenticated.Note: Secure Access cannot be enabled at the same time as Foreign Device Interface.Information Checklist1. Ensure that the device is fully functional on the network. TCP/IP and HTTP protocols must beconfigured so that Internet Services can be accessed.2. Ensure that the Xerox Partner authentication solution (Secure Access Server, Controller, and CardReader) is installed and communicating with the multifunction device. Follow the installationinstructions from the manufacturer of the authentication solution to correctly set the devices up. Makesure to securely mount any external user authenticating devices to the machine.3. Ensure that SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is configured on the multifunction device. The Xerox Partnerauthentication solution communicates with the multifunction device via HTTPS.4. (Optional) Ensure that Network Accounting is configured if you want the multifunction device to senduser account information to a Network Accounting server. For instructions, refer to the NetworkAccounting section of this guide.5. You may also need another Authentication Server (running LDAP in an ADS environment, forexample) to communicate with the Secure Access Server providing that server with user credentialinginformation. A second Authentication Server will be necessary for web user Interface Authentication, ifthis feature is additionally desired.6. You will need to configure LDAP communications on the multifunction device as stated in the LDAP/LDAPS topic in the Authentication section of this guide.
