Turn the fuel cock lever to “ON”.2. Shift the transmission into theneutral position.3. Turn the starter (choke) on andcompletely close the throttle. (Seepage 4-6.)4. Start the engine by pushing thekickstarter lever down.5. When the engine is warm, turn thestarter (choke) off.TIPThe engine is warm when it respondsquickly to the throttle with the starter(choke) turned off.NOTICEECA11043For maximum engine life, never ac-celerate hard when the engine iscold!EAU16661Starting a warm engineFollow the same procedure as forstarting a cold engine with the excep-tion that the starter (choke) is not re-quired when the engine is warm.Instead, start the engine with the throt-tle slightly open.TIPIf the engine does not start after sever-al kicks, try again with the throttle 1/4to 1/2 open.
