Displaying the information aboutthe input sourceYou can display the information such as the type, formatand sampling frequency of the signal input from thecomponent connected to this unit.1 Select the input source you want to obtainthe information about by pressing an inputselector button.2 Press STEREO/EFFECT tolight STEREO.3 Press k/n to display the information aboutthe input signal.AUTO: This mode automatically switches DolbyDigital Matrix 6.1/DTS ES Matrix 6.1/DTSES Discrete 6.1 depending on the signal inthe input source that this unit can detect.Rear center speaker does not work for 5.1channel sources.Disc6.1: This mode can be selected only when thesource with DTS ES Discrete format hasbeen detected.Mtrx6.1: This mode makes 6-channel playback of theinput source through the Matrix 6.1 decoder.OFF: Rear center speaker does not work in thismode. (Except for when the DSP program“6ch Stereo” or “Neo: 6” is selected.) Virtual CINEMA DSP and SILENTCINEMA DSPVirtual CINEMA DSPWith the Virtual CINEMA DSP, you can enjoy all theDSP programs without rear speakers. It creates the virtualspeakers to reproduce the natural sound field.The sound field processing is changed to the VirtualCINEMA DSP mode according to the selected DSPprogram by setting “1C REAR L/R SP” on the SETMENU to NONE.Note• This unit is not set in the virtual CINEMA DSP mode even if“1C REAR L/R SP” is set to NONE in the following cases:– when the 6ch Stereo, DOLBY DIGITAL Normal, Pro LogicNormal, Pro Logic , DTS Normal or Neo: 6 program isselected;– when the sound effect is turned off;– when 6CH INPUT is selected as the input source;– when 96-kHz sampling digital signals are input to this unit;– when using the test tone; or– when connecting the headphones.SILENT CINEMA DSPYou can enjoy the powerful sound field as if there wereactual speakers with the SILENT CINEMA DSP. You canlisten to SILENT CINEMA DSP by connecting yourheadphones to the PHONES jack while the digital soundfield processor is on. Enjoy all the DSP program using theheadphones. The “SILENT” indicator lights up on thefront panel display.
