Maintenance587. Start the engine and make sure that thelow oil pressure warning indicator re-mains off. Also, make sure that there areno oil leaks.CAUTION:ECM01620If the low oil pressure warning indicatorcomes on or if there are oil leaks, stop theengine and find the cause. Continued op-eration with a problem could cause severeengine damage. Consult your Yamahadealer if the problem cannot be locatedand corrected.8. Turn off the engine and wait 3 minutes.Recheck the oil level using the dipstick tobe sure the level falls between the upperlevel mark “ ” and lower level mark “ ” .Fill with oil if it is below the lower levelmark “ ” , or drain to the specified level ifit is above the upper level mark “ ” .9. Dispose of used oil according to localregulations.NOTE: For more information on the disposal ofused oil, consult your Yamaha dealer. Change the oil more often when operatingthe engine under adverse conditions suchas extended trolling.Draining the oil by removing the oil drainscrew1.
