INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL FUNCTIONS1-10in this position.EAM30537FUEL COCK (for YZ250X)The fuel cock supplies fuel from the tank to car-buretor and also filters the fuel. The fuel cockhas the three positions:OFF:With the lever in this position, fuel will not flow.Always return the lever to this position when theengine is not running.ON:With the lever in this position, fuel flows to thecarburetor. Normal riding is done with the leverin this position.RES:With the lever in this position fuel flows to thecarburetor from the reserve section of the fueltank after the main supply of the fuel has beendepleted. Normal riding is possible with the leveris in this position, but it is recommended to addfuel as soon as possible.EAM30444STARTER KNOB (CHOKE)When cold, the engine requires a richer air-fuelmixture for starting. A separate starter circuit,which is controlled by the starter knob “1”, sup-plies this mixture. Pull the starter knob out toopen the circuit for starting. When the enginehas warmed up, push it in to close the circuit.EAM30190SIDESTAND (for YZ250X)This sidestand “1” is used to support only themachine when standing or transporting it.WARNINGEWA18980• Never apply additional force to the sides-tand.• Hold up the sidestand before starting out.
