Verify that the governor control lever onthe engine is in contact with the lowspeed stop bolt.If adjustment is needed, loosen the bracketthat holds the control cable and adjust itsposition as necessary. Adjust the highspeed position first and then the low speedposition.NOTICEThe high speed stop bolt on the enginegovernor is set at the factory. Do notadjust. Adjustments to this bolt will void theengine warranty.Adjusting the Marine Gear ControlCable1. Check that the control lever moves tothe correct position when the remotecontrol cable handle is moved to theNEUTRAL, FORWARD and REVERSEpositions.2. Use the NEUTRAL position as thestandard for adjustment. When there isdeviation, loosen the bracket for theshift control cable on the marine gearand adjust its position as necessary.Adjusting the Propeller ShaftAlignmentThe flexible engine mounts arecompressed slightly during initial engineoperation and may cause misalignmentbetween the engine and the propellershaft.After the first 50 hours of operation, thealignment should be checked andreadjusted if necessary. This is considerednormal maintenance and the adjustmentrequires specialized knowledge andtechniques. Consult your authorizedYanmar Marine dealer or distributor.After you complete the initial 50-hourmaintenance procedures, perform thefollowing procedures every 50 hours ofoperation.• Draining the Fuel Filter / WaterSeparatorDraining the Fuel Filter / WaterSeparatorWARNINGWhen you remove any fuel systemcomponent to perform maintenance(such as changing the fuel filter), put anapproved container under the openingto catch the fuel. Never use a shop ragto catch the fuel. Vapors from the ragare flammable and explosive. Wipe upany spills immediately. Wear eyeprotection.
