8• The rope guide is attached to the right side of upperhandle. Loosen the wing nut which secures therope guide. See Figure 4.• With spark plug wire disconnected and grounded,hold the blade control handle against the upperhandle, and pull the starter rope out of the engine.Release blade control handle. Slip the rope into therope guide. Tighten the wing nut. See Figure 4.• Tighten all nuts and bolts securely.• Attach the cables to the lower handle with the twocable ties already on the lower handle. Pull tight thecable ties and cut off the extraFigure 4• After you have moved the hairpin clips as shown inFigure 3, place one carriage bolt (found in thehardware pack included with your unit) in the upperhole of the right handle mounting bracket from theinside outward. See Figure 5. Secure with oneplastic wing nut. Your lawnmower may be equipped with both a mulching baffleand a mulching plug. While the mulching baffle islocated at the rear of the mower, the mulching plug islocated on the right side of the cutting deck. Do notremove the mulching plug from the mower even whenyou are not mulching the grass.• To remove the mulching baffle, lift the reardischarge door on the mower. Remove themulching baffle. See Figure 7.Figure 6IMPORTANT: Make sure cables are routed to theoutside of the handle so they are not in the way whenattaching the grass catcher.• Lift the rear discharge door on the mower.• Place the hooks, found on both sides of the grasscatcher frame, over the chute door pivot rod at therear of the mower. See Figure 7. Release the reardischarge door.• To remove the grass catcher, lift the reardischarge door on the mower. Lift the grass catcherup and off the pivot rod. reinstall the mulghing baffleand release the rear discharge door.
