19Throttle ControlThe throttle control regulates the engine speed.In order to increase or decrease the engine speed,the control is moved forward or backwardrespectively.Avoid idling the engine for long periods.Use full throttle when mowing.IgnitionThe ignition key is placed in the front console andis used to start the machine.Hour MeterThe hour meter displays the total operating timeand reminds of service intervals.Meter will indicate “CHG OIL” for engine oil andMAINTENANCE CHECK for general service.Service alerts will re-set after serveral hours.CONTROLSGaugesWater temperature gauge- indicates coolanttemperature and warns of overheat situation.Ammeter - indicates amount of electrical flow atthe battery. Under normal operating conditions theneedle will be slightly on the plus (+) side of thegauge, showing that current is being supplied tothe battery. At idle speed, the indicator may be atzero or on the negative (-) side. A continuousnegative reading at normal operating speedindicates a malfunction in the charging system thatshould be checked immediately.Oil pressure meter - tells what the pressure is inthe oil system and warns if pressure is too low foroperation.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONWait till the glow plug light goes out beforeturning the engine over.
