31disengaged before the motion control levers canbe moved from the neutral slots or the engine willkill.By moving the levers an equal amount forwardor back the machine will move in a straightline in that direction.Movement of either lever forward will causethe right or left wheel to rotate in a forwarddirection. To stop movement pull both leversinto the neutral position. To turn right while moving in a forward directionpull the right lever back toward the neutralposition, this will slow the rotation of the rightwheel and cause the machine to turn in thatdirection. To turn left while moving in a forward directionpull the left lever back towards the neutralposition, this will slow the rotation of the leftwheel and cause the machine to turn in thatdirection. To zero turn pull one lever back beyond neutralwhile holding the other slightly ahead of neutral.NOTE: The direction of the zero turn will bedetermined by which lever is pulled back beyondneutral. Thus left lever back, left zero turn andopposite for right zero turn. Use extra care whenusing this maneuver the machine can spinvery rapidly if one lever is positioned too farahead of the other.OPERATIONMotion control levers BAM-6WARNING!The machine can turn very rapidlyif one steering control is movedmuch further forward than theother.WARNING!Clear the lawn of stones and otherobjects that can be thrown out bythe blades.• Locate and mark rocks and other fixed objectsin order to avoid collisions.• Begin with a high cutting height and reduce ituntil the desired mowing result is attained.• The mowing result will be best with a highengine speed (the blades rotate rapidly) andlow speed (the rider moves slowly).
