Advanced Phone Features113You can use multicast paging to quickly and easily forward out time sensitiveannouncements to people within the multicast group. You can configure a multicastpaging key or a paging list key on the phone, which allows you to send a Real TimeTransport Protocol (RTP) stream to the pre-configured multicast address(es) withoutinvolving SIP signaling. You can configure the phone to receive an RTP stream frompre-configured multicast listening address(es) without involving SIP signaling. You canspecify up to 10 multicast listening addresses.To configure a multicast paging key via phone user interface:1. Press Menu->Features->DSS Keys->Memory Keys (or Line Keys).2. Select the desired DSS key.3. Press or , or the Switch soft key to select Key Event from the Type field.4. Press or , or the Switch soft key to select Multicast Paging from the KeyType field.5. Enter the multicast IP address and port number (e.g., 224.5.6.20:10008) in the Valuefield.The valid multicast IP addresses range from 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255.6.
