19The second ovenThe second oven is the smaller of the twoovens. It is heated by elements in the topoven and bottom of the oven. It is designedfor cooking smaller quantities of food. Itgives especially good results if used to cookfruit cakes, sweet or savoury flans or quiche.The second oven is also ideal for use as awarming compartment to warm dishes andkeep food hot. Use the lowest setting on thesecond oven temperature control.Using the second oven• Turn the second oven temperaturecontrol to the required setting.Things to note• The cooling fan for the controls mayoperate after a time.• The indicator neon will glow. It mayturn ON and OFF during use to showthat the setting is being maintained.Do not place dishes, tins and traysdirectly on the oven base as itbecomes very hot and damage willoccur.To fit the second oven shelfThe shelf should be fitted with the straightrods uppermost on the frame and the formstowards the back of the oven. If not fittedcorrectly the anti-tilt and safety stopmechanism will be affected.
