116 Installation on an existing substructureM-30-1382-en S8 / S81 Ceiling Mounts Issue 12.0Printed on 19. 11. 2007On-site preparationsCustomer's responsibilitiesNote:Zeiss service staff can install the ceiling mount only if all points of the fol-lowing checklist applicable to the relevant installation conditions havebeen fulfilled.Caution:g Obtain the structural verification for an existing substructure from astructural engineer, i.e. make sure that the engineer confirms the ef-fective strength of the existing anchors.Structural verification must be performed prior to the installation of themount.Please add a copy of the "Confirmation of structural calculation" toyour order (see page 119).g On-site conditions also include building vibrations, which the structuralengineer responsible must take into account right during the planningphase (see page 26).Obtain a written confirmation from your structural engineer stating thatpossible building vibrations have been taken into account (see page119).g If an existing substructure is to be used, make sure that the maximuminclination of the ceiling anchor plate under load does not exceed 0.2°.g The structural engineer must check that no modifications have beenmade to the substructure since the original installation.g Obtain a written confirmation from a structural engineer stating thatthe applicable national codes and regulations have been compliedwith.g If any differences exist between the planning documents and the ac-tual on-site situation, please inform your contact at Carl Zeiss or theplanning expert prior to the installation of the ceiling flange or pre-in-stallation set.g Please note the information provided on page 104 for ordering an S81ceiling mount for installation on an existing substructure (existing in-termediate piece).
