Standard 25 ICS3-4 B 40-029 e 01/983.2 Setting of transmitted-light brightfield for KÖHLER illuminationAs described in chapter 2, the microscope is readyfor operation and switched on according tosection 3.1. If the Ph 2 phase stop carrier (3-3/4) is availableon condenser 0.9 Z (3-3/6), it should be swungout of the optical beam path for microscopy intransmitted-light brightfield.Furthermore, the following basic settings of themicroscope are required: First, place a high-contrast specimen with 0.17mm cover slip on the mechanical stage 75x30 R(3-3/8). Swing 10x objective into beam path via knurledring (3-3/9) of the nosepiece. Look throught the fixed eyepiece of thebinocular tube (3-3/1) first and focus on theobject via the focusing drive (3-3/2).Then set the focus for the other eye by turningthe eyelens of the focusing eyepiece. The eyepiece distance is matched to theindividual interpupillary distance by swingingthe eyepiece tubes symmetrically towards oneanother.Set the interpupillary distance in such a waythat you can see a sharply limited field of viewwith both eyes. The viewing height can be increased (3-4/A) orreduced (3-4/B) by turning the entire binoculartube through 180°.Fig. 3-3 Setting of brightfieldFig. 3-4 Setting of interpupillary distance ofthe binocular tube
